Features
GAIA Reply™ can interface heterogeneous data sources fetching and integrating contents
GAIA implements a rich set of functional features to develop and execute effective mobile services. Moreover, GAIA can be customized and adapted according the customer’s IT architecture in orer to satisfy business and technological requirements, through a set of infrastructural features.

01. Functional Features
Detecting which type of network is requesting a multimedia content or a service, GAIA framework is able to recognize the kind of device in use and to adapt multimedia contents. It can also enable content protection through the built-in OMA Digital Right Management (DRM) specification functionalities.
The framework includes several connectors towards mobile operator channels, both synchronous channels (Vodafone Live! portal, i-mode portal), and asynchronous channels (CIMD2, SMPP, EMI/UCP, MM7 Ericsson, MM7 EAIF/Nokia, MM7 3GPP, MM1, PAP, SMTP).
GAIA supports many standard protocols and integrate external systems at data layer (SQL, JDBC, ODBC, LDAP, distributed file system) or at application layer (FTP, HTTP, SOAP, RPC, message queues). Through its modular design, the framework can be easily extended to support also legacy protocols and applications.
02. Infrastructural Features
GAIA is independent from the favourite technological stack. As it is compatible with the main operating systems (Windows Server, Linux, Unix), it can use Open Source or proprietary DBMS and can be integrated with different application servers (Tomcat, BEA WebLogic, IBM WebSphere).
The framework has a centralized tool to configure all the distributed components (notification rate, request thread pool dimension, ...) and makes available a range of monitoring tools that can be integrated with SNMP agents (HP OpenView, BMC Patrol, ...). The architecture ensures H24 availability and SLAs with strong constraints. Thanks to multi-threading and distributed communication middleware, the framework ensures a high level throughput together with optimized performance.
