Mobile solutions scenario
In the past, enterprises had to face several difficulties in integrating mobile solutions with their own applications: they used to develop and maintain ad hoc integration for each new mobile technology and each mobilized application. This approach showed to be too complex and expensive, reducing the implemented applications to services with minimal functionalities or with a very large user base, such as the mobile e-mail.
To overcome these limits, vendors introduced on markets new software platforms, which let companies implement vertical mobile applications. More sophisticated services were implemented with those platforms, but IT enterprise architecture resulted to be bound to legacy solutions, hard to extend or integrate with other vendor products.
